Worst kiss scenario

Political strategist James Carville . . . along with George Stephanopoulos . . . are credited with the brilliant strategizing of Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign. But the outspoken Carville, who’s sometimes referred to as ‘The Crazy Cajun’, clearly miscalculated when he equated Gov. Bill Richardson’s endorsement of Barack Obama with Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus Christ . . . albeit mercifully sans an actual reenactment of the kiss of death.
Carville’s comments are not entirely wrong . . . if we factor in utang na loob on the part of Richardson who was appointed Energy Secretary and UN Ambassador at various times during the Clinton administration . . . but his words effectively nudged from the front pages the racially-insensitive sermon of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who was Obama’s pastor until his recent retirement.
The resulting backlash of the Carville soundbite may have played a large part in reversing the Democratic bets’ poll numbers, with Obama now leading Hillary Clinton by 3 percent . . . after trailing her by 9 points last week
