Losing in winning

Joe de Venecia had definitely overstayed when he racked a record of being the only five-term Speaker of the House but the manner in which he was yanked out this week could have repercussions that Pres.Arroyo and her clan may have underestimated.

While the oust-JdV ringleaders . . . including Pres. Arroyo’s two solon sons . . . had a stated goal of restoring transparency in the disbursements of billions in House funds, it eventually became abundantly clear that JdV’s ouster was simply payback time to severely punish the father who happened to have a son and namesake that had sullied the Arroyo family’s honor . . . or whatever remained thereof . . . by directly implicating First Gentleman Mike Arroyo in the multi-million dollar ZTE kickback scandal.

Shortsightedness usually manifests itself soon enough and, unfortunately for Pres. Arroyo, it looks like the de Venecias are girding for all-out war that can unceremoniously abbreviate her controversial stay in the Palace.
